Telehealth Therapy
What is Telehealth?
-
Telehealth therapy is therapy that is provided by phone or online (by video) using your computer or other device which allows the use of a camera and microphone.
-
Most devices have an inbuilt camera and microphone.
How do I use Telehealth?
-
For therapy sessions done online (by video) you’ll be sent a unique video link before your appointment with Carolyn.
-
Then just a few minutes before your appointment, you click on this link and your session will start once Carolyn clicks on her link too. You’ll then both be able to see and hear each other.
-
You do not need any special programs (eg zoom) to do this.
Why use Telehealth?
-
It allows you to access therapy from remote areas where psychology services may be limited.
-
It allows you to access therapy from your own home, reducing time and money costs involved in traveling to in person therapy.
-
It allows you the choice of having therapy by phone or online (video).
-
Most people who are hesitant to use telehealth find that they are quite comfortable with it by the end of their first appointment.
